The Ankor Watt

I thought I had seen it all; the Borobodur, Bagan, The Pranbanan, but I was wrong this beats it all.

20-01-07
My alarm clock went of at 4.30, ringing in the middle of the night it woke me out of my deep nice sleep. What 'was wrong with us?! It was still dark and my eyes were still closed, I had a hard time opening them.'
But we wanted to be at the Ankor Watt temple to see the sunrise, so we had to sacrifice something for that.
Sitting in our private tuktuk, with a beautiful white color sheet on the seat, driving through the dark night in te city I noticed how many shops were already open at this time and how many tuktuk's with tourist already going to Ankor Watt.

Ones we arrived there I thought well this will be the same as all the other temples, ruines and pagodes we already saw; especially after we saw so many in Bagan, but I was wrong.

We saw a beautiful temple in front of us and went out of the tuktuk to get in. I thought this was the temple, this was it, but when we went in I saw that this was only the entrance of it!
Wow this beautiful temple was only the entrance of the amazing temple hidden behind it, you can imagine how gorgeous and the 'real' temple was.

So beautiful, so amazing and so stunning, you can't imagine!
It was a great day; really one of the best.
Now I know why this was the 3th world wonder on the list.

It 's just so big and there are so many temples, the king must have been really rich and very powerful.
With all these temples I wondered how long it must have taking to make this beauty and how many persons must have worked on it. All these details, all these beautiful art structures. All these stories on the walls and in the statues, so much history.... Really if you ask me; all these people must have all been artist, because it's just amazing how they made all of this.

The nicest temple I thought was Bayon; were you can see thousand of heads (a mixture of the king and Buddha) in the temple. Every time there were four heads each turning east, west, north and south.

You can feel the magic floating through your entire body. So much peace and it's so quite. Although it's that big and there are so many temples they're all built in the nature and the middle of the jungle. You can hear the birds singing and the wind blowing through your hair.
Trees are growing over the temples with these enormous roots: an amazing thing to see. So big and powerful. One nature growing on in the future, it might destroy the temple, but for now it was a beautiful view.

The temples are still used to pray and you can see the monks walking there and nuns burning insince in the temples.

In front of some temples there are men playing traditional music on their instruments. I first didn't realize that these people were victims of the landmines till Dimitry said; 'those man don't only take there shoes of they take their whole food or leg of'.

We came when it was dark and we left when it was dark. We saw sunrise and sunset. The time flew by and we had a wonderful day with a great feeling of satisfaction afterwards. We saw so much beauty and so many in one day.

I will keep that beauty in my heart forever and I am so thankful for that.
