21 December 2006 | Maleisië, Kuala Lumpur
From Brisbane I flew to Kuala Lumpur where I had to stay for one night. It was already dark when I arrived with the train at the central station to the city. When I got out sight it was raining; yeah not really what I expected from an exotic country as Malaysia. I took a cap to my hotel, when you’re tired, it rains and you’re a girl alone at a Central station you don't feel like walking. I knew from that moment that I was back in Asia; the guy was really friendly and tried to practice his English when we were there he got out of the car and got an umbrella for me; although it was just a few minutes walk he carried my bag and made sure I didn’t' got wet. At the hotel the organization was shit and they didn't receive my reservation; they only had one small room and they charged me more; but okay I had no choice so I took it. I had to pay strait away, but when I got my visa they said I could only pay with cash (what kind of hotel is this?) the atm was already closed and I had to leave really early the next morning (so even earlier up now) I didn't feel happy at that moment to be back in Asia; the smell in the hotel was just terrible and when I wanted to take a warm shower it was freezing first and than the water just stopped so that was wonderful. At night you could hear everything what your neighbors were doing and you don't always want to hear that. Up early no sleep getting money to pay your hotel room everybody staring at you (yes you can feel eyes in your back everywhere being a white blond girl in Asia) I saw a cheap bus from air Asia to the airport but I already bought a train ticket so with the train to the airport I found out that I had to be at a different airport (can't they just make one airport???) Luckily there was a bus going to the other airport and I met a group of Italian people who also were going to Phuket with air Asia; so I wasn't the only one running late. With cheap flights there always something going on so I even had to wait an hour before the plane left. When I arrived in Thailand they made pictures of you and showing my passport an angry looking man sat at the counter and ask me in which hotel I was staying when I told him I didn't know he told me I had to go out of the line and just spend my time and day's at the airport. I was stunned: 'did this just happened?' I went back, luckily some Australian guy's told me there hotel they were staying and when I went back (picture time again, feet on the drawn feet) he let me go. I was really excited and a bit nervous to be picked up by Dimitry.
