Panching: the beauty of a Buddha cave 07-08-06
On Monday we went to Panching, where the caves were. To come there you had to drive true an oil palm tree plantation; which was also beautiful of course. It was so quite there; it felt like you were the only one on the planet.
The caves were just incredible; I think I found that one of the most fascinating things I had ever seen. In the middle of those palm tree plantations there was a big mountain, when we came closer you could see a little temple in front (with a Buddhist sitting in his orange sheet) and steep steps going up (up to the caves)
We started our way up; I had a friend who came a long with us the whole way up and down (one of the puppies there), without any trouble he walked the stairs, although we had a hard time going up, because of the heat.
There was a big dark hole were we had to go down with a stairs, there were some lights but it was still pretty dark (I was glad that the power did not go out, because you wouldn’t have seen anything anymore)
There were all little temples, incense and offerings, clothes of Buddhists lying there ( I think they even slept there some nights or had their meditations in there) It was just amazing, and even more amazing that we were there all alone, nobody else was there, you could here you breath and the bats. (Later we could also see them, whaa scary!)
When we went further into the cave there were all statues and dolls of goddess and of course Buddha. At the end of the cave there was THE SLEEPING BUDDHA (beautiful, but it had an ugly face though). I lighted an incense stick and we went back, first up more, were there was a beautiful view and than down again (were we had a drink, you just trough the money in the bin, wish we could do that at home!)
